why is my audio being picked up through the xbox and not my microphone

This shouldn't be possible, the Xbox controller does not have a built-in microphone.

Were you on Discord? Was your cellphone connected to it?

I have not been able to use it on my xbox, it wont pick up any audio from my sf-666 condenser microphone

I'm so sorry for what you're going through, there are two main reasons why your Blackshark v2 x microphone may be picking up the voices of game characters and playing them on Discord or Gamechat:

The microphone is picking up sound from your computer's speakers. This is known as audio feedback and can occur if the microphone is too close to the speakers or if the speaker volume is too high.

The microphone is picking up sound from the headphones you are using. This is known as headphone feedback and can occur if the headphones are too close to the microphone or if the headphone volume is too high.

You can verify that these are not the case by changing the volume or resetting it in the settings.

I have adjusted the both settings ("set time zone automatically" was not originally on),hit the sync button and then restarted,

however I still can not talk in party.

If this helps, In the audio tab on the Xbox game bar, the bar under "windows default input" it is showing that it is picking sound up through my microphone.

no, i don't use the party chat, i'm in the game that has voice chat, but the microphone isn't bein picked up, so i can hear my crewmates, but they can't hear me and when i go to the xbox app>settings> audio, there is a gray bar right under where it says Voice volume and under that gray bar, you can set the volume, that gray bar looks like it should light up or show you if your microphone is being picked up but it always stays gray. When i go to the xbox game bar and launch a party, it looks like it picks it up there fine, but in the settings of the xbox app it does nothing, same for the game(sea of thieves) whenever i try to speak in the game nothing comes out on my side and the green message icon that shows if your voice is getting picked up doesn't appear at all meaning it's not picking up the microphone for some weird reason.
