Why is my Acer LCD monitor KG272 165HZ not working?

you need a monitor that shows exactly 120hz in the edid information, if it shows 119.86 which a lot of monitors do then it will not work, there are monitors out that are designed to work with consoles now that have the exact standards.

pc can pretty much use anything, consoles can't.

My monitor supports 60, 75, 85, 90, 120, 144, 165, used this on my series s and 120hz works fine as 120 is exactly 120hz.

This monitor only have HDMI connection? Or a display port is included with this monitor?

I say this because some monitors only supports +120Hz using the display port and not HDMI

Because you need vesa standard timings

165 Hz isn't standard 24 30 50 60 and 120 166 and 240 and 480 is standard (480 is plasma display only)

Check the monitor specs. Some monitors (e.g. Acer Predator XB271hu) can do 120, 144 or 165hz but only via the DP connector. HDMI connector may only support 60hz.
