why is my account in the wrong currency on xbox?

With regards to the currency on your Xbox, if you are trying to buy items using your Xbox console I suggest you also check your console's locale or region you may check the steps on this link how to change or check it https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...

Aside from that, also check via https://account.xbox.com/en-gb/Settings/Home to see if your Xbox account region is set to the correct one. On the page just click on 360 account region and check if it is on the correct region where you are residing.

Note: it will take approximately 3 months before you can change your region again if ever you change it from the xbox website.

The only reason why ms account wouldnt show up is if you are using it from the website or you redeemed the wrong currency card or onto the wrong account

Currency cards are region specific

Us cards won't work in canada or UK for example

You can check your balance and which currency you have at commerce.microsoft.com

Currency cannot be transfered over between regions

This does indeed sound to be an odd situation.

Go ahead and contact Phone Support. They will be able to look into your account and should be able to diagnose and remedy the problem for you.

Actually support will sometimes remove the currency from the wrong account & credit you with a code to put on the right account.

They wont always do it which is why I said they may be able to help.

Hi, if you sign into https://billing.microsoft.com and look in the top right of the window what currency does it show there ? It may well be that your account region setting is incorrect. In the
top right of the window it should in your case say GB Personal account, if it shows the wrong region then that indicates your account region is incorrect. You would then need to migrate the account to the correct region.
