Why is MS and EA having server problems?

It's a EA problem not MS as it's not MS servers you are playing off of, but I do agree that the description should have been changed once EA cut the servers.

Except that MS offered the XBL servers to EA for them to use, but EA refused. Actually it was more a case of MS told them they would have to use the servers MS provided for XBL as other developers do, but EA told them if they couldn't provide their own servers
then they would not publish any games for the 360. Basically forcing MS to allow EA to run their own inferior servers. So they could control them and shut them down when they felt like, just to force gamers to buy newer versions of older games.

Why people still stand for this from EA I don't know, maybe they are too stupid to realise if they stop buying the latest EA sports title EA will have to rethink their bully boy tactics.

That is just plain wrong. MS do not provide dedicated servers. The xbl servers are not the servers for any games. Games either run peer to peer where one of the xboxes in the game acts as server or the company provides dedis like EA servers or whoever it
was that made Homefront.

EA are just the publisher it is a Respawn game and they are not using EA servers they are using MS servers which have been used in Forza already and from feedback of that I hear they are preforming great. Personally I don't expect much if any problems with
Titanfall.

I live in the US as well but hackers use the EA servers to enter xbox live. Some people got their account taken from this move. This is why MS didnt want the whole EA server but they were forced right after EA bought the NFL license for Madden.

[/quote]Really so no one is playing those FIFA games, those Madden games, and the other sports titles that EA releases each year, and then shuts down the previous years servers around the same time? So they aren't shutting them down so people who want to
play online have to buy the new version of the same game? That's not what they are doing?

If EA isn't doing this, then why did they Force MS to let them run their own servers when MS was going to do it for them like they do for almost everyone else? Why did EA tell MS that they had be allowed to run their own servers or they would not make any games
for the Xbox 360?
