Why is Minecraft pe saying I’m offline even though I’m online?

We understand the inconvenience caused. As per description, you are not able to join world with friends and that you are on an offline view.

We will first do our research so we can give you concrete answers about what is causing the problem.

However, we’d like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution for you. To start, please provide us information/answer on the following questions:

• What platform are you playing (Xbox Console, PC or phone)
  
• Current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)
  
• Xbox app and Gaming services version?
  
  • Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.
    
• What troubleshooting steps have you done?
  
• Was this working before?
  
• Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?
  
• Are your NAT open, so do with your friends? Please check on this also.
  

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

• First get your friend to check her privacy settings, and if you are trying to play via cross play you will need to make sure it is enabled in your console settings.
  
• Please also make sure you are using the latest update for the same game.
  
• Please double check to make sure that both game versions are the same.
  
  Different versions could restrict access to players that are not on the same one.
  
• Please also make sure you are using the latest update for the same game.
  

Other source of fixes. (To Open the NAT)

• Launched windows settings
  
• then clicked on gaming,
  
• clicked on Xbox networking, then clicked fix it.
  
• It changed from Teredo unable to qualify, to NAT type ‘Open’ Minecraft Windows 10 Edition - (Unable to connect to world) - Microsoft Community

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

Please perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

" 1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state."

If that didn't work, try the steps below from the game support:

"Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator

Go to Options > General > Data

Toggle Online Functionality OFF

Click on Apply & Save

Toggle Online Functionality ON

Click on Apply & Save"

Like I said if its both of you it might be an isolated thing. A few other people have mentioned it on twitter. Your time frame also matches up with the few I have seen.

The only thing you can do is wait for it to be sorted by the techs.
