Why is it that MS or Xbox does not have a direct phone number to call?

The call back feature is good but you need to get through all the non sense bots and questions in order for you to reach the callback request.

In AU/NZ, they have a direct phone support number to call which great.

We in South Africa has a direct number to phone Xbox.

The direct number is not used in the larger Xbox communities like the US any longer as you where place don hold for a very long time.

It depends on the country but normally if it is not in your accounts or official social accounts, support from xbox usa provides it to you

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

Microsoft / Xbox support was receiving lots of prank calls and customers who were calling in without knowing any of their account information. By having the customer sign-in to their account to set up the call back eliminated those problems which also decreased
wait / hold times for other customer who were trying to get in touch with Support. I hope this helped!
