Why is it not allowed

I would like to change my Xbox classic gamertag back to one that I had used before I’m wanting to change it back to stanky blankly I used this gamertag on the Xbox 360 and on the Xbox one but when I go to change it it says that this gamertag is taken or not allowed and I’ve looked and it isn’t taken as a gamertag

The gamertag you're trying to change back to, "Stanky Blankly", may be associated with a Microsoft account that has been inactive for a while. Microsoft periodically releases inactive gamertags, so you can try checking back later to see if it becomes available. It's also possible that the gamertag was previously used by another player and was deemed inappropriate or violative of Xbox's terms of use, which would make it unavailable for reuse.

In the meantime, you can try adding numbers or symbols to the end of the gamertag to make it unique, and see if it's allowed. If you're still unable to change your gamertag to "Stanky Blankly", you can reach out to Xbox Support for further assistance. They may be able to assist you in resolving the issue and getting your desired gamertag.

It was my first gamertag that I had on Xbox a couple of years ago I changed it I never stopped using the account so it wouldn’t be associated with an old account

Hi DreadAtom15. Do you happen to know if your opponent was playing the game from a different country? As mentioned above, it was deemed a geopolitical issue, so in your opponent's country, it may not carry a derogatory tone. As for your other question,
there are always going to be words that can be used in a derogatory fashion, some are going to be deemed harsher than others, only because of the frequency with which they get used or for the harshness of how they are used. It is possible that if we see any
terms being used in a hateful way, they too may be censored.
