Why is it every single Xbox I have the disc drive stops reading games what am I doing wrong

So over the years I have had multiple Xbox ones and every single one the disc drive stops reading disc

I had the original Xbox one (brand new) after almost a year it stopped reading discs eventually I replaced the console with a (brand new) Xbox one x after a year it stopped reading games i "upgraded" to a brand new series x again halfway through the year it stops reading discs sent away and repaired under warranty now another 6 months later out of warranty it's stopped reading discs again I don't even use the disc drive often it's mainly just when I want to play a backwards compatible game like once every 6 months at a push ide maybe understand if I used the disc drive everyday and it wore out so to speak but when they get little use I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong for 3 consoles to all stop reading discs

no the first suggestion I have to make is if you use it for watching movies you should stop doing that. The drive contained in most game systems over the entire course of their histories since the PlayStation one are usually not robust models

If you live in a very dusty area, or insert dirty discs, these may be issues. And I'm not saying that you personally may be doing that with someone in your household may.

What I am saying is that I have the game installed and it STILL reads from the disc WHILE I AM PLAYING. Every other game I've EVER installed only reads the disc when the game starts and then it stops reading the disc and streams from the HDD. BF3 does
not do this.

Nope, it seriously just sits there and does nothing. It doesn't even say it's the wrong disc, nothing. Every single xbox one game reads with no issue at all, bot a 360 disc seems to just not work. Have I bought the only dodgy xbox one s?

it's definitely reading off the disc it will freeze for a second or 2 every now and then and the drive makes a bit of noise and the game resumes. it sounds like a jet engine and stops as soon as i eject the drive or close the game. It's not a big deal now
that i have a brand new xbox S but I do wonder if it's a bug or the hard drive i recycled is *** up.

The issue can be with the console disc drive or the game itself. It is indeed compatible, I was able to confirm that.

Do you have a different 360 game or disc game to check if the console will be able to read them?

I know it’s nothing wrong with the console as I have installed Skate 3 with a disc a few times on it. And this isn’t what normally happens if the disc is dirty. I will keep trying but do you have any ideas in the meantime? Cheers.
