why is https://account.xbox.com/settings throwing a http 502 error?

I have the same issue. None of the suggestions you listed worked. It only happens on my fold5 while using Chrome. No issues logging in with other android devices.

We will need to further isolate this case. Kindly try to perform the following workarounds:

- Disable any extensions or try incognito or in-private browsing.

- Disconnect from VPN/Proxy servers if you have.

- Clearing the cache and cookies of your browser.

- Use different browsers and devices.

If it doesn't work, try a different Xbox account to access the link. It might be possible that the system has detected that your account is a child account.

A child account can't manage and access the privacy settings on its own, you need an adult Microsoft account to manage its own privacy settings for you.

A child account is registered on the birthdate 21 years old and below upon the account's first creation while an adult account is registered on the birthdate 22 years old and older.

I checked the Xbox status page and all services are up and running. On a different Xbox account link is working. On my main account date of birth is set to 1999 so my account shouldn't be child. And if my account is somehow child how can I fix it? I cleared all cache and cookies and tried using a different browser but it just doesn't work. (sorry for the mistakes, I'm using a translator)

The vague 'temporary problem' did eventually resolve itself, and I found a way to access my profile while I was on hold.

8-Step Workaround:

1. Sign out of xbox.com/Microsoft account in all browser windows. You may have to do this multiple times.
   
2. Clear cookies/data in Firefox, Chrome or any other browser window.
   
3. Close all browser windows.
   
4. Make Firefox the default web browser in Windows 10 settings.
   
5. Open Xbox App from Microsoft Store/Start Menu (Windows 10).
   
6. Click on gamertag in Xbox App.
   
7. Click on settings.
   
8. When you select the option to change gamertag and/or privacy settings Firefox will start as it has been set to the default web browser. Firefox should now load Xbox.com website correctly, allowing you to see something other than a 502 Error or a blank page.
   

This is quite a hassle. Xbox Live is a paid service and it is more difficult to use than free alternatives (Steam, Epic Games). It is also worth noting that GPUs are no longer a price bottleneck when it comes to PCs in the current day.

In light of this very bizarre behavior from the xbox live website, and the deprecated niche that consoles seem to no longer fulfill hardware-wise, I question why xbox live persists as a service.

However, when I went into my Microsoft settings and turned off two-step verification, not only did it not resolve the issue I had with my xbox live profile, I can now, no longer access my security dashboard.

I receive a new and additional error: "There is a temporary problem, please try again later." whenever I try to access my security dashboard.

I will call support and post if any solutions are forthcoming, to any of these issues with Microsoft's services.
