Why is Hebrew not allowed for GamerTags?

Currently these are the languages that are being offered for gamertags

We offer gamertags in the following alphabets/Unicode scripts: English basic, Latin, Latin extended, Latin extended-A, Hangul, Katakana, Hiragana, CJK Symbols (Chinese, Japanese, Korean), Bengali, Devanagari, Cyrillic, Greek, and Thai. These alphabets represent over 200 languages worldwide.

You could always have a one word in a different language (i.e. Japanese, Hebrew, etc.)

For instance, the word cat in hebrew is Chatul, I don't think that's taken (as of this writing). You may also find one word in different languages sound cool. Awesome in hebrew = Atzum.

I would really like to hear from one of the Xbox employees who determines what is or is not a bad word. My feeling is that pretty much anything that can be said on prime time television should be good to go. I would also like to get a list of forbidden
words so I don't have to change my gamer tag every five years. I mean seriously, making me change it after all of these years....they did not seem to mind my gamer tag while they were taking my money. (I'll get off my soap box now)

As well as referring to someone with a penchant for wearing outlandish fedora hats and using a cane a pimp is also someone who operates a prostitution based business. Hence why you have to change your name.

If you like Halo, "Shaimesh" is an alternate spelling of Halo in hebrew.

"Call" as in "Call of Duty" is "Coraim" in hebrew (pronounced Kora-eem)..

Pick something you like and try a different language if you want : )
