Why is guide unresponsive after these updates? Xbox Series X

Based on your description, you notice that the guide on Xbox Series X is becoming unresponsive. Thank you for the report! For now, let us check if this can be resolve with troubleshooting or else this has to be reported to the Team Xbox for investigation.

1. By the way, may we know if you are part of Xbox Insider?
   
2. What is the console's OS version? To find your console’s OS version:
   
   • Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings.
     
   • Select System > Console info.
     
   • Your OS version and Shell version are in the second column.
     

For the troubleshooting, please try the following:

• Sign out of your account
  
• Power cycle Xbox -
  
  • Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    
  • Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
    Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
    
  • Plug the console power cable back in.
    
  • Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

• Finally, sign back in, and see if you will still experience lag and issues with the account.

Clear Cache

Turn off your Xbox Series X|S using the controller or the Power Off button on the console.

Unplug the power cable from the back of your Xbox Series X|S.

Wait at least two minutes.

Plug the cable back into your Xbox Series X|S.

Turn your Xbox Series X|S back on.

After completing these steps please reboot your Xbox.

After this, please remove the profile and add it again. Here are the steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

When you're finished, select Close.

Then, proceed to add it again.

Next, please make sure your Xbox is set as a home console. To do it please follow the next instructions:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select System > Settings > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

Select Make this my home Xbox to designate the console as your home Xbox.

Let's give a shot in-game again.

Then, let's check there's no pending update of the console by following the next instructions:

Make sure that your console is connected to the internet, and then press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system> Settings > System > Updates.

Under Updates, you can see:

Console update available. Select this to begin your update, or

No console update available. This means your console is up to date.

If there's a pending update please allow it to be completed.

Finally, please open the game and check if it works.

I really think they (Microsoft) are dropping that OTA TV Guide (Option) due to the fact that the Xbox Series X has no HDMI In. So There will be no OTA TV option so they are phasing us out. Very disappointing!!

I use the dvb-t usb tuner. Why would that be unsupported on series x?

Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

- Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

- Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

- Press and hold the Pair button (located on the left side of the console) and the Eject button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button on the console.

- Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

- Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

- The console should power up and take you directly to the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter.

If your console doesn't have an Eject button, you can bring up the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter on this console by holding only the Pair button (steps 3 & 4) and then pressing the Xbox button. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

- Once you see the Startup Troubleshooter, select Factory Reset and then choose "Keep Games and Apps"

- Once the Reset is complete, you'll be prompted to sign into your console using your Microsoft account credentials, after which you'll choose your preferred settings and your console should display normally again.

NB: A factory reset keeping games and apps will not delete your game saves as they are backed up in the cloud and will resync once you've signed in.
