Why is Fortnite over heating both my brand new Xbox series X consoles ?

I want to know what Microsoft plan to do about this issue. I have seen posts and threads of the community recommending customers send their consoles to repair. That’s madness and criminal. Both my consoles are spanking new and both have the same problem. You won’t be getting any more money out of me.

I play many games including call of duty, no problems. Fortnite runs fine but cuts out after around 10 minutes. And the console is not even warm. I saw a thread mentioning the console could be going into safe mode, ok whatever. When can we fix this ?

It’s not to console. It’s the game Fortnite.

What are you going to do about it besides recommend moving objects around our perfectly fine NEW consoles..? It’s a serious problem. I have a house full of people who all play Fortnite.

unless you're seeing a specific message about overheating it's not overheating. What you're almost certainly seeing is the console going into protect mode to prevent the data corruption

You would have to ask epic to patch their game to make this not happen. Microsoft has no ability to patch Fortnite

Tried all suggestions including resetting factory xbox console and reinstalling fortnite. Still having the issues.

Note: This is a brand new xbox series x. I used it to play fortnite successfully for a couple days, and the problem started randomly while playing in a match.

I just bought a brand new Xbox One X, but when I go to the store, Flight Simulator and other Xbox Series X/S games say they are "not playable on this device" and I can't get Flight Simulator to install on my brand new Xbox One X because it says it's "not compatible". Very frustrating.

So you bought an Xbox One X and expected to be able to play an Xbox Series X game on it?

Why would a game made for an Xbox Series X work on an Xbox One X?

If you want to play Xbox Series X/S games I would take your brand new Xbox One X back to the store you bought it and see if they will take it back and you could try and buy an Xbox Series S (Series X consoles are very hard to find, but a Series S can be found fairly easilly)

Yeah, there are already 2 brand new consoles the Xbox series X and the Xbox Series S. I think that the new Xbox series X is amazing, but I expect it will be along time before a new console is develpoped.

While I use the series X, I haven’t yet experienced any issues with leaving my xbox on extended times to see if it would shut down due to over heating. Think of it as a PC, as long as it gets air to keep it cool, leaving it on for extended time periods I don’t see why it would over heat. However I wouldn’t recommend it, as it could shut down, never tried. Not saying it will shut down due to over heating, but there’s a chance it could.
