    Why is crossplay forced on us?


    Why can we not have optional crossplay? We should not be forced to play PC players. I've been dealing with it for years on Warzone and was very hopeful the new MW2 would have optional crossplay. Now I'm finding out crossplay is forced. It really makes me want to switch to playstation, since they don't have it forced on them. Why is this not optional? Whatever happened to this stance below?

    “I’ll never force somebody in our games whose playing with a controller or a mouse and keyboard to play against somebody with a different control scheme,” said Xbox chief Phil Spencer in an interview with Gamespot in 2016. “Mouse and keyboard rotation speed is faster than controller. We know that, you’ll lose.”

    90% of games online servers are paid for and run by the devs/publishers of those games, xbox live paywall is just a tax to play online with the games you purchase, and they add a few ms of ping time to your connection as the go between.

    Didn't Microsoft just buy Activision? If so, shouldn't the policy change? Microsoft can pretty much do what it wants with xbox live.
    No they didnt. They are in the process of attempting to buy Activision but it hasnt officially happened yet.

    You should ask Activision this question as it is completely up to them whether or not it’s implemented and how it’s done

    I agree. All the answers saying: “it doesn’t matter, you can have mouse and keyboard on console” are totally invalid. If I wanted a mouse and keyboard I would’ve bought a pic. Complete bs.
