Why I can't send gifts

i got the same problem, xbox is having a sale and i gifted a friend a game and everything was fine but now he gifted me one back and it say's differnt region.

Why can't the codes be all the same? and why is there not a warning message that you sending it to a differn't region?

I did not know they had a region blocker for gifts but I know now, thanks anyway... But I played Control and finished the game and was sended to me as a gift and I really don't understand why I can't do now. If I change my Xbox Region the gift should work,
right?

There is no problem in sending your friend a gift. If you are worried though, why not send the code via email?

why they send gift card directly to account? is it automatically redeemed?
