Why has my star level dropped from 4 to 3

I have been a level 4 star for close to a year why has my star level dropped to 3? I hope it's just a glitch because if the drop was deliberate I'll little angry I'd hate cancel my reward as a result

iv'e dropped from 3 stars to one star was 20% away from 4 stars.this is not a good move

 

Xbox Star percentage dropped

Hi, I am a Xbox Rewards Member. I am currently on my way to my 5 star. As of the middle of January 2017 I was at 51% to the next level, as I bought some games in the second week of January. But now my percent has dropped down to 13%. Why has it dropped down?.

Ranks reset each year (normally on September 1, but they extended it to January 1). If you did not spend enough for level 4 between September 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016, you would drop to a lower level.

We re-calibrate MyVIP on a yearly basis. However, in September 2015 we received a lot of feedback from members like you which inspired us to make some changes to the way MyVIP works. We gave everyone four extra months to boost their MyVIP Star Rank for 2017,
and will also be re-calibrating your annual spending by the calendar year from now on to make it easier to track.

Based on your eligible spending from September 2015-December 2016, you were placed at a three star level after the yearly calibration, and afterward had your progress set to default.
