Why has messaging, muting, blocking, unblocking, and the store been running like crap the past ...

The title says it all. It's been total **** since March(ish). What's the deal?

Problem with Friends/Followers list (both on regular and NXOE updates)

Recently I've cleaned my friends and followers list on Xbox One by blocking and unblocking them so that they won't follow me anymore as a friend, and it worked for the most part...

However four people that I've deleted from my friends list are still there permanently as one of my followers. I've tried blocking them and unblocking them again over and over but they're still stuck on my followers list permanently.

Is there a way to actually remove them from my followers list? Blocking and unblocking most people that I used to have on my friends list worked, except for four of them, and I don't know why this is annoying for the most part.

 

Party glitch

Im having the same issue. Ive tried everything:

Quick resets

Tried blocking and unblocking (since it tells me they are blocked)

Tried muting and unmuting

Tried deleting and readding as a friend.

WiFi deletes and reconnects

Hard resets

And factory resets.

This problem still persists.

I did have it work on 1 friend. But now it's gone to another one.

We both were trying all of the things above. Just to get one friend in our 3 person party. Now it's on to friend #2

 

All core services are up and running so maybe it's just an issue with data refreshing for you. Try removing the account from the console, doing a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on, and then re-adding the account.

 

Things work, but not immediately, often times. All of my friends (literally all 73) have been complaining of messages not sending the first, second, third, or even fourth time.

I have all port forwards open, my NAT is clear, and I even have access to iPv6. I've heard it's a possible issue with the XBOX One X?

Also, I've tried three accounts on my home system... all having the same issues.

 

NAT has only to do with data coming from the outside to your console from peer-to-peer connections, like in multiplayer matches or party chat.

Text messaging is not affected by NAT or IPv6, as you are actively sending data out of your own network to the text servers.

You can eliminate a possible cause, if you suspect an issue with your console, by going to the Xbox.com website, and signing in with your account.

There click on the account picture, and choose "Messages".

There on the messages page try to message your friends. Does sending text messages work on the website?

 

I haven't done it on the website, but it seems to be sluggish and inconsistent with the iphone XBOX app, as well. It seems like Microsoft broke it two system updates ago.

 

Can you please check on the website? Phone apps and the Xbox use remote API's to use the messaging service "in the cloud". The website messaging is "more direct", as I'd assume that the servers running the website are in or at least directly connected to
the data center running the messaging servers.
