Why doesn't the Xbox Series S come with a power cord?

IDK what Microsoft was thinking when they launched their new Xbox Series S and decided NOT TO INCLUDE a POWER CORD?! Maybe I missed it? Maybe it fell out? **Checks box contents list...Console...check

Controller...check HDMI...check Wireless compatibility...check Power cord...nope. For almost $300 and we still have to go buy a power cord? Embarrassing Microsoft, definitely below grade.

The Xbox contains a power cord. If you don’t have one, it was accidentally left out. You can acquire a standard figure 8 power cord at virtually any electronic store it if you do not wish to return the system for a complete unit.

i bought one and i literally didnt get anything BUT the console, no power cord or nothing, not even a controller, and i bought it from microsoft out of fear that this type of thing would happen

If you have an Xbox One S or an Xbox One X, you can use its power cord with your new console. The power cord from the original Xbox One would not work with a Series S/X console.

Why doesn't the Xbox Series S come with a power cord?
