Why doesn't the USB headset work on XBOX?

At the moment, I am using a usb headset through pc. Party chats on the app work, and parties on xbox I see, through the stream, register my mic. But it doesn't transmit my voice. Which is why I'm extra confused.

I dont know exactly how it works but still, as far as I know any DAC/AMP or USB headset work with Playstation, not just a few chosen ones.

It is my understanding (and I may be completely wrong here) that, whilst the PS4 USB protocols are very similar to those on a PC, the XBox USB protocol is very different...hence why, for example, some USB wired headsets will work on PS4 and PC but won't work on Xbox.

As an example, I have a wireless headset with a transceiver that plugs into USB...whilst it works fine on PC and, by all accounts, works fine on a PS, it simply will not work on an Xbox

xbox one does not support usb headset, they do not support audio over usb at all.

the only way is 3.5 mm or wireless headsets that use optical for the base station.

all usb headsets that say they support xbox don't, they work on ps4 but xbox not a chance, i own several usb headset that state they work with xbox one.

Unfortunately this particular headset doesn't work with the xbox one. I believe this is a wireless only headset that comes with a USB wireless dongle. Xbox uses it own codec through USB so to use this function it would have to be a licensed product for
xbox. I have a similar issue, mine fortunately could hook through optical an has the 3.5mm jack so I could still use chat. Using the 3.5mm jack on the controller most headsets will function through there. USB wise it will have to be a licensed headset only.

it wont work via bluetooth as the controller does not pass audio vie bluetooth.

wired then it technically should pic the headset up as a usb audio device. i normally use either a turtlebeach 3.5mm headset or my mobile phone headset.

not sure why it wont work over usb though.
