Why doesn't my Series X automatically update games?

I have all those options enabled, and still gotta start the updates on my own.

This seems easy to solve.
Make sure your console is connected to the Internet and Keep my games and apps up to date is enabled. To do so, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select Profile and system

Updates
Under “Updates,” make sure Keep my games and apps up to date is enabled.
Check if there are any pending updates for your games. To do so, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Select My games and apps.
Select Update all or select the individual games you want to update.

I have had the same issue for years, on both my original Xbox one and my Xbox one x. They just simply don't auto update, despite having the settings enabled. Nearly every time I go to play, I'm hit with multi gigabyte necessary game update, and often I just walk away because they take too long on my internet connection. Feels like my game pass subscription is just going to waste. I definitely don't see myself renewing once my sub runs out, specifically because of this issue.

Check region and language settings: Make sure your device's region and language settings are set correctly for your location. Some features of the Xbox app may be affected if the region or language is set incorrectly.

If it fails it happens with a specific game. Check the settings for specific games. Some games may have specific update options or patches that you must enable within the game itself. Check the update settings within games that do not update automatically and make sure they are set to receive automatic updates.
