why does xbox support suck!

I have this problem where I was not able to download free game of this month, was constantly getting a "This is content is not available in your region" and I have triple checked my region, and availability for this region and finally called xbox support!

The guy picks up, and he asks me to debug using my console and I told him its an account related issue and he insisted on me getting my xbox despite telling I didn't have access right away, after that he said and I quote "I don't care how you get it, and
if you have to borrow an xbox"!

Seriously what the hell, is that the way anyone talks? "I don't care how you get it...", and while I was telling him how arrogant his behavior was and he shouldn't be talking to customers like that and he continues to be rude and says "just get a console
from anyone and talk"... and then he just hangs up!

This is not my first interaction with such a snob, earlier about a year back I spoke to this person called Randy, and he was quite a racist and making rude/offending remarks! and he was the supervisor! Seems like Microsoft xbox support doesn't care for
their customers!

it's just ridiculous that such people are even working!

Have you called to see the status. I remember when i had to have mine fixed and it took about that long. You need to remember there a millions of consumers that have xboxs and that would probably put it in the tens of thousands of units needing repaired
so give it a little time and have some patience.

I'm going to be "that guy"... you people are going to survive if you have to go 6 hours without your Xbox One. Go for a walk. Hit the gym. Discover the outdoors. Make a snowman. Yes, my Xbox One is down, so I am enjoying the competition's console before
that gets DDoS'ed also... and yeah, I said it. I am sure Microsoft is working on fixing the problem as quick as they can too. They want customers to remain happy so they don't lose money.

I live in USA and my gamertag is set to USA as well...

Again, my primary intent was to show how arrogant and rude these people are and behave with customers more than anything! It's awful!

 

Are you able to download the game free via the Xbox.com website itself or do you get a similar error?

well you have done the right thing report and move on and hopefully your probelm will get fixed

 

Do you have a twitter account? If you do tweet @xboxsupport 9.9 times out of 10 they will help you through issues faster then dealing with people over the phone in my opinion and they always seem to be the most pleasant people to deal with.

That being said, you should always have your console accessable when speaking to support, what you may think is an account issue may not actually be and could actually be a caching error or that you need to redowload your gamer profile.

That also being said, There was someone having a similar issue with downloading it in the Dark Souls forums. Typically I would link you to the thread that has a link to what might fix your problem but my computer died and I'm typing this from my 360 thus
I can't copy paste so...check the dark souls forum here on xbox.com it should be on the first page or 2...maybe 3.

Heya! Sorry to hear about your experience on the phone. I agree with you, they should treat their customers with patience and understanding, and I also agree that while we expect them to be nice to us, we should also treat those guys on the other end of
the line with respect and confidence, relying in what they can do for us. I personally love asking for assistance from Xbox Support even with the smallest things. They were ever nice. I hope you move on from such experience you had and learn to trust them
again.

Anyways, I suggest that you contact them again so that they can look into your account further and check if your account region is really set to one where the game is available for download. You might just not be aware that your account is in a different
region or may have been migrated without you knowing. You may want to try as well deleting (Delete Profile Only) and redownloading your profile. If you've all those (confirm that account region is really in US , redownloading profile, and the very basic powercycling
of console), then it may really have something to do with the game being unable to be downloaded at the moment. You may want to try it again in a few more days.

Well, I always talk to the other person patiently, I did call in again and was helped with this very nice lady, and she followed up with me later as well.

I had bought my device in India, and that seemed to have been the problem, although what I don't understand is that xbox should provide alternate content in such a scenario, which they didn't.

In any case, it's not just one experience that was terrible, but two, and the very first one was with actually a supervisor, and went on to make offensive statements and then it was this one recently who was rude and had no courtesy while talking.
