Why does xbox sell Microsoft wallet funds?

Thank you for your reply, I wish I had seen this one before following what Chiefjoboo said.

I had it pre-ordered for £63 but Chiefjoboo said they would take it from my bank first as that is what I put when pre-ordering as I had no funds on my wallet then, so I cancelled the order then had to pay £71.99 and use the funds on my wallet.

Well serves me right for not waiting for more replies, you live and you learn lol.

EDIT : I did try and change the payment option, but my MS Account Balance is not one of the choices, which I find strange, its either add a new card or paypal only, not Account funds. Would be great to add that option if changes to payment method are needed.

They will use funds on your MS account first, then your bank account for any remaining balance 😀

It depends on which payment method you chose when pre-ordering that game. If you used the Microsoft account balance the money is taken instantly, and if you chose your bank account it will take the money about ~10 days before the game releases.

And if it was, and no money was taken out, and that says the pre-order was cancelled, you will need to pre-order again or wait until the game comes out.

I don’t have the funds in my Microsoft wallet though , I only spent 1p on card and £99 Microsoft wallet

also, if someone can tell me, why can you not pay for this with the funds in your wallet? I have enough to pay for it with what is in my wallet (Formally points) but I don't want to enter my credit card.......
