    Hello,

    A few things about my situation: My main friend group likes to use party chats (one, not 360) as their main social media so I decided to make an account. I only have a 360 nor Xbox live gold but no one seemed to think it would make much of a difference if
    i were to use mobile. I started with a new email for both times I tried making an account and logged in successfully. I added my friends, used the text chat, and could receive invites. However, when I actually made it into the party I could only talk/hear
    people for the next 17 seconds and then it would fail without crashing the app. Rejoining did the same thing. This happens regardless of the accounts I use or the device I use (I have an android phone and tablet from around 2015).

    Is there something I'm doing wrong/ not doing?

    Edit: I tried different headphones so it doesn't seem to be that either

    Have you tried using other headphones to see if it's not the problem?

    If using other headphones you problem still persists, try to power reset your console and try chatting on your phone again:

    ​​​2. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    3. Unplug all the cables (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 5 minutes.

    4. After 5 minutes, plug all the cables in again and turn your console back on.

    I don't think it's the headphones or Internet because it works perfectly fine in a online game chat. I have tried restarting the Xbox but it didn't work, it also cuts wal not in a game.

    I understand that you are experiencing issues with party chat.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please check your network by going to Settings > Network > Network Status to see if there are any issues with your internet connection.

    And the power cycle your Xbox. Hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds until it shuts down. Unplug it for a few seconds, then restart.

    Next is to check your NAT type. To do this, go to Settings > General > Network Settings and make sure your NAT type is Open.

    If it's Strict, that is the cause of the party chat issue.

    Then update your Astro A20 Firmware to make sure that it is properly working.

    If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly try a different connection. If you're using Wi-Fi, switch to a wired connection and then restart your router. Please check if it works.

    looks like Xbox support chats and calls centers are highly likely to help due to COVID -19 (coronavirus) they won't be picking up or you will rarely get connected to an Xbox agent

    It might be that so many people are calling in at once, or maybe they are understaffed durring this time.
