    Why does the Xbox One console not actively search for game updates until after the game...


    I am having trouble with my console. Any time I want to play a game, the moment I stick the disc into the slot, there is an update required to be downloaded first. Well the console was on for a few hours beforehand as I was browsing the store and checking the other games in my library. Why did the console not look for the updates to my games until I put the disc in? Why does it only decide to update that specific game the moment I put in the disc or select to start it from the library (digital download type)? Why can't I just manually select each game and check for an update? Why can't the console automatically select to update the games that I have not played in a short while or am not playing at the moment? Why not update them in the background? The console does supposedly search for updates to the games when going to that update section of the system menu, so how did it miss out on an update for a game until I put the disc in?

    I have that setting set to on (check-marked). It still will only update the game when I stick the disc in as it checks for updates for that game only when it reads the disc. Still does not explain why it won't look for updates when the setting is already set to update automatically.

    Please make sure that your auto-update setting is turned on

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates.
    Under Updates, select Keep my console up to date to update your console automatically and Keep my games & apps up to date to update games and apps automatically.

    On your power options, you choose the Shutdown option or customize it to support automatic updates of your games and apps when not in used.

    Yes I completely understand but why does Microsoft developer keep this music app active up to Series console despite already discontinued? There's no point of this app still available on Xbox Store until present.

    If you have Series console, try going to Microsoft Store and search Groove. The app is still active. It's pointless that already ceased and still showing in store.
