    Why does the Xbox game bar not let me talk to my friends in a party.


    I'm not able to talk to my friends in a party chat while I'm on computer It pops up a message that states this "Background apps permissions for Xbox are turned off.

    Other may not be able to hear you." as any human would do I proceeded to follow the steps it told me too I checked the permissions and the permission for my mic is on but there is no section that says let this app run in the background. The reason I'm confused is because I have a newer Pc made from NZXT with widows 11 please help me resolve this issue.

    This is happening to me to I'm not sure why though it doesn't let me load any of my other games as well or talk to my friends on Xbox Live Parties hopefully this can be fixed for others. Ecause I hate this!!!!

    No, That recent update broke game bar. Very few people use game bar due to performance issue in games. I use it to connect with friends. None of your cookie paste instructions work and wasn't going to work cause Game bar is not running in the background properly. I can hear my friends, but they can't hear me unless I PIN the party chat(which does not stay on 24/7). I should not be using work arounds just to talk to my friends. It's over month and this should of been resolved long ago. Do not blame the user(s) since not a lot of consumers uses this feature, let alone know about it.

    I was playing a game and i was in a party and it just stopped letting me talk, i can hear my friends and the game it just wont let me talk. Any ideas what happend?

    Cannot speak in party/in-game chat. But can hear everyone through headset.

    I was talking to my friend then he left the party and now my mic does not work. I can hear them but when i go to speak it will not let me speak to them. :-(

    Currently having the same issue after going through hours of trying to figure out how to open the NAT type on both PC and xbox, it finally lets me fully connect to the party but will not let me hear anything and my friends cannot hear me. my mic shows
    that is working, I have tried both xbox (beta) app, console companion app and game bar. my mic says it is talking, all input and output device setting are correct. Im at a loss
