Why Does the Xbox Elite Series 2 Still Have a 125Hz Polling Rate Cap?

I recently bought an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller expecting better input latency compared to standard Xbox controllers. Given that it's a "pro" controller, I assumed it would have a higher polling rate for lower input delay, similar to PlayStation controllers. However, after testing, I realized that it's still capped at 125Hz, the same as regular Xbox controllers.

Meanwhile, Sony's DualSense and even the PS4 controller can reach 1000Hz (1ms delay) when overclocked on PC. Many third-party controllers like the Razer Wolverine V2 and Victrix Gambit controller can also be overclocked to 1000Hz, yet Microsoft's own premium controller is locked at a higher delay.

I don’t want to spend extra money on third-party controllers just to get better input latency when I already spent like 188$ on the Elite Series 2. Could Microsoft consider releasing a firmware update to allow higher polling rates (at least for wired mode) like other companies?

This change would greatly improve competitive gaming and reduce input lag, making the Elite Series 2 live up to its name.

Would Microsoft be open to increasing the polling rate in a future update?

    :)

Can we get better polling rate on xbox controllers?

you must be trolling bro. this was a useless “answer” that doesn’t even talk about the issue at hand. playstation controllers can be overclocked to 1000hz polling rate, meanwhile ALL official xbox controllers are hard capped at around 125hz polling rate. all we want is a controller that does NOT have a capped polling rate. please.

pulling rates are limited in order to prevent people from having an advantage. If you use modified controllers, using features not included by their manufacturers open yourself up for enforcement action

    Keyboard and mouse

Most "Gaming" mice have an exceptionally high poll rate and DPI resolution, which isn't properly supported in some games yet.

If your mouse came with a configuration software that allows you to change the DPI sensitivity or the Poll rate, try to set the mouse to a lower DPI and poll rate (125Hz poll rate is recommended).

If you are unable to change the poll rate or DPI sensitivity, then you can't use that gaming mouse on the Xbox One yet.

If you really need a dedicated Xbox gaming mouse, wait for the official Xbox One Razer gaming mouse, or simply get yourself a cheap office/business mouse instead of an expensive gaming mouse.

Why does my mouse judder when playing fps games on Xbox x?

I’ve tried all of those steps before and nothing changed.

What I did do was log into Razer synapse and put the polling rate to 125hz from 250hz (which I’ve tried before to no avail) and turned the lights off on the mouse and it does seem to have improved.

I’ve played a few games today and on one occasion it seemed quite bad again, however on the whole it seems there is a definite improvement. So maybe it was the polling rate or even the lights on the mouse not helping? Not sure but it definitely seems better.

Edit since posting this I’ve played a couple of games and it’s actually gone back to being the same. I’m thinking the improvement was maybe some sort of placebo effect. Used the controller to compare and it’s far smoother.

Go switch poling rate to 125hz mouse back to normal.
