Why does the Minecraft launcher say Buy now instead of play, even though I bought minecraft?

2 days ago I purchased Minecraft for PC, the order went though my microsoft account and it was working. I was able to play just fine and everything worked. Today, when I tried to play the launcher just says "buy now" instead of "play" even though I am logged into the account I bought it on and played already. I have tried uninstalling the launcher and reinstalling it, logging in and out, and restarting my laptop. Nothing has worked and I still can't access the game.

Same problem, although I bought bedrock in 2019, and now, it's acting like I never bought it. It als odid not want to give me java, and it gave me issues during the migration. Now, I can't play either, despite buying the game in 2019. Support refuses to help me, and I cannot get any help because they have removed that option from me.

Ive had a similar problem, I have 2 computers, one much better than the other and I had originally put it on the bad one, but after downloading and playing on the better one for awhile, I had to play on the older one for a little bit and now going back to the better computer it just says buy now, instead of play. I have tried restarting my computer, signing out on both devices, i checked the website, and I know I own the game, but it wont let me play on my better computer (it crashes on the worse one).

Sorry to hear about that. It's possible that the issue has been caused by the known issues regarding managing or viewing your games through the Store on this link https://support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

I suggest to wait and monitor the issue from that link and retry accessing your game once it's resolved.

Same issue! Support has not helped me at all! They just say "check for community answers" or " contact another support team" Constantly handing me off with ZERO help aside from the basic "is your computer plugged in?" level support. Microsoft support removed the button to actually talk to support for me, because I kept needing help, for this problem, and they keep not being able to actually help. How hard is it to help? They can't even find the record of my purchase when I have given them the order number I was emailed back in 2019. How disorganized must they be not to have record of that even? It's horribly disappointing.

Didn't work for me either. This has been the most FRUSTRATING thing I've experienced with my PC. EVERYTHING else works great! All the games, all the apps, etc... EXCEPT Minecraft. I've bought the freaking game twice now because I'm an idiot and thought that might work. I've logged in and logged out of my Microsoft account, I've reinstalled the launcher a bazillion times, and restarted the PC so many times. And it STILL doesn't work. It just says BUY NOW. Which I've done... I 100% guarantee. Both Bedrock and Java. This is insane. I'm so sick of it.
