Why does Series S force close a paused/minimized game session when there's an update for it?

If a game forces multiplayer but allows for Invite Only or Private Sessions, I'm OK with it. But if it does without an Invite Only or Private Session, I'd just look for a new game. No one if forcing you to buy such a game. Invite Only sessions is where only
you and the people who have been invited can join so you can choose to close yourself off from the rest of the world and pretty much call it single player cuz it's only you in the game.

Okay, start story mode then press start, go to online in the pause menu and click "play GTA Online", then you get six options

1: GO - Head strait in GTA Online

2: Invite only session

3:Crew session

4: Closed crew session

5: Closed friend session

6: Solo session

Xbox backwards compatibility is currently paused for the moment due to the focus of the Xbox Series S & X release. So it may be some time for the game to become backwards compatible if it ever does.

None of the games were forced to stopped though (well not counting manually pausing it) as i paused them as it's easier to do so and wait for when i am able to update them for later. Really need to take some screenshots with my elgato to remember which
games/app need updates.

After the system update I am now on the 6/29/2021 general release version.

My console has been connected to Xbox Live everyday since this release, would it not make sense that the update is forced as I turn the console on or as I connect to Xbox Live rather than a couple of hours into my session? I feel like all previous system updates have been installed in this way for me which is why I was annoyed by the change.

I use the Energy-saving power mode for my Xbox Series S because the console heats up while switched off if I use instant on. Is this disrupting the update prompts in some way?
