Why does NBA2k 21, 22 and 23 suddenly start crashing on my Xbox One?

Hi,

I tried a reset and also a complete reset losing the installed games. Neither worked the only difference being the nba2k23 game displays a ventilation message and returns to the main xbox menu rather than turning off. This was after I re,-installed the game. The console was working hard by the sound of it at times but not overly hot. It's only nba 2k 21 22 23 that don't work. Hogwarts legacy works fine

Is it possible a digital version may work? 2k23 is very cheap now and maybe worth a try.

Thank you for your help. I installed a demo of nba2k21 and it crashed after a few seconds. I thought it might be a disc game issue but alas no. Hogwarts legacy works on disc. I will try what you suggest and hopefully that works.

If you identify that the console is overheating to the point of shutting down, it should be checked by a technician.

If the console remains at room temperature, try a reset of the console to rule out a software problem.

Go to Settings>System>Console Information

And restart keeping your games.

Note that the console accounts will be removed, so you will need to have the email and password for each account to log back in.

Your progress, achievements, purchases and other data will remain intact, don't worry about that, you won't lose any data, the only thing you need to do is to log in again.

It was down today - 9/23 for me (worked last night - 9/22). I just turned on my 360 and it worked 9/23 21:40 PST. I still want compensation for the time it was down.
