    Why does my Xbox series 2 don’t keep disconnecting in a game?


    I recently bought a Xbox series 2 controller 2 weeks ago or so and have had no problems since this last week it keeps “disconnecting” but the light don’t turn off and I can use my Xbox menu and go off the game and do everything else but it stops working only in game I use the cable that come with the controller I’ve made sure I’ve updated the controller but this problem occurs multiple times a day.

    Would this be due to the controller or my Xbox?

    I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Xbox series controller.

    I understand that you have already tried using wired connection yet to no avail. Kindly try to update the controller's firmware using Windows PC to see if it works according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...e is mandatory. Install the update. See More.

    "Update your controller on Windows 10/11 by using the Xbox Accessories app:

    If you don’t already have the app installed, get it in the Store:

    https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9NBLGGH30XJ3?hl=en-us&gl=SA

    Open the Xbox Accessories app.
    Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller by using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
    When the controller is connected, you'll see the message Update Required if an update is mandatory. Install the update.

    Things to keep in mind:

    The Xbox Accessories app is available only on Windows 10/11.
    Updating the controller over Bluetooth is not supported."

    Then check if the controller will connect properly.

    after having to constantly turning off power supply to make the controller work for 2 minutes i was able to update the controller but did not help the controller still kept disconnecting

    Which profile on which Xbox needs to be set as the home Xbox?

    Okay sorry if I’m still not getting it. I don’t know why I can’t comprehend it. Lol

    But to clarify:

    My profile (game pass buyer) on my console (series S) needs to be set as home Xbox.

    My mom’s profile on her console (Xbox one) needs to be set as home Xbox. My profile on that console does not.
