Why does my xbox live expire a day before

What you do is pay the $1 promotional subscription charge to join Gamepass Ultimate (regular price starts automatically after the promotional period ends) You simply switch to GPU because it includes XLG, and Microsoft should immediately terminate your XLG membership.

Sometimes Xbox Gold expires hours before midnight of the day it is set to expired. I don't know why this happens but it does sometimes. Was there any messages or error codes coming up when you tried to play your games?

Can you check your active subscription as to when it will expire from what it shows on your account. You can check that here:

Usually, the charge date will sync with the renewal date and they do not charge you early. Was it really an attempt to charge or was it just an authorization?

Just make sure the correct date is showing on your subscription as well for the expiration.
