Why does my xbox keep showing "User cannot do this because of how your account is set up"

Hello, i have recently purchased Modern Warfare 2 for my Xbox Series S and its running great. However when i play ranked matches i prefer to turn crossplay off. I can only do that in the setting of my console instead of ingame, no issue at all. But when i have turned it off, everytime i want to search for a match and when a match has ended i get a message stating :"user(gamertag) cannot do this because of how your account is set up" from 2 to 4 times. It happens with every match im searching and it happens at the end of each match. I get the choice to press ok to enter my pin or cancel but both seem to do nothing as i can just search for a game after ive pressed it. But its getting annoying to do. Is there any way for me to fix it? So far i have powercycled my console twice but i dont know what else i can do to try and fix it. I have checked my settings and its set to only ask for my pin when items are purchased or when the Microsoft Edge browser is being opened.

Unfortunatly it still gives the same message as soon as i login. "To continue, enter the Pin for this profile or provide authorizatiom using your Microsoft account." When i press cancel i can just matchmake like normal untill the end of the match where i get the prompt twice again. But if i press Ok to enter my pin, i enter my pin and i get asked again if i want tovplay with people outside of xbox. If i allow it crossplay is enabled and the prompts top but if i deny i get back to the same message to either enter my pin or cancel.

It is not the greatest of issues but it i am guessing it will remain as i did read that for pc and xbox it shouldnt be able to turn off crossplay.

Do you have another solution i could try by chance?

Does the issue happen to your other games when you play online or multiplayer?

I believe that you don’t get issue when playing MW2 match if you turned on cross-play, correct?

While it’s turned off, try to re-add your account.

Note: Before doing these steps, please make sure that you know exactly the email address linked with your gamertag and the password to it so you can add the correct account again.

1. Remove account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm. When you're finished, select Close.

2. Power cycle:
Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

3. Add account:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide. Select your gamerpic in the upper-left corner of the screen, move all the way down and select Add new.

Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that you want to add, and then select Enter.

I think it has to be turned on aswell, i did read that it shouldnt be able to be turned off on pc and xbox but xbox has the option to prevent the console from having crossplay connections.

Thank you for the fast reply. It only happens in MW2 when i have crossplay turned off. Ill give it a try and report back to you.
