Why does my xbox keep lagging and crashing

• Do you get any error codes/messages when the game crashes?

• If this is mainly happening with GTA, it may be an issue with the game itself. To clarify, is your console also slow or unresponsive when you navigate the dashboard, guide, or settings menu?

• This happening while you play both online and offline means the problem might not be related to your network. Could you give this a try?

- Go to Settings > General > Network Settings, and select "Go offline".
- Try playing launching GTA while your console is offline.

• Do you, by any chance, have a different network you could momentarily connect your console to? Please note that even a phone's hotspot would work for testing purposes.

Since this is happening while playing offline and online, and both going offline and using a different network didn't make a difference on your console, then it's unlikely for this to be related to your internet connection.

• Have you already tried launching GTA using a different Xbox profile? Sometimes account-specific information, such as saved data, can cause a game to crash.

In addition to trying a different profile, could you power cycle your console? exactly like this:

- Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.
- Unplug the console's power cord for 5 minutes. If you have the original Xbox One, you'll have to unplug the power supply unit from both the console and the outlet.
- Turn your modem/router off and unplug them for 5 minutes.
- Plug everything back together and check if the issues persist.

• Just for confirmation, you mentioned having completely reset your console, did you mean a factory reset removing all your games and apps?

hey AJ i have some more answers for those questions

- Nope, It just gives me the usual gray screen followed by a light gray screen and then home page with no message.

- Yes it can be a little slow, actually some other games can be a little slow but never crashing like GTA does

- Just tried going offline and launching gta, still unfortunately crashed seconds after beginning to load

- I tries my phones hotspot as an earlier attempt as well and unfortunately nothing changed either.

- Yes it mainly seems to be happening with Grand Theft Auto V

- Its the same on online and offline modes on GTA

- Not currently, although I use to have a USB In one of the back ports, and it never cause my xbox to run slower nor faster.

- and finally yes other xbox devices in my home are also experiencing this problem to a very small degree but the situation with my xbox is a lot worse, at the time of writing this i can no longer even open up the game because it crashes a few seconds after beginning to load.
