Why does my Xbox have a mandatory update every 2 days

recently (the past 3 months) my Xbox has needed an update almost every time Ive turned it on and even more recently in the past month it’s needed an update everytime I turn it on the updates aren’t small either I’ve had to download 2 updates within the past
week that were 3.5 GB. I haven’t found anything online about anyone running into this problem but it’s out of hand at this point I live in a dry cabin with my family and have to use Mobile hotspot just to occasionally have WiFi and so when I have to update
it every other day it makes it impossible to play. 2 days ago I had to do a 345 MB update which took about 3 hours and then I went to Seattle today and when I hooked my Xbox up to the hotel WiFi It said I had to download a 3.5 GB update I thought maybe it
was because of my Xbox preview program but I disabled it before I left for Seattle and now there’s another update.

xbox reset to factory settings after update.

I am in the xbox insiders program, i want to leave it. i have been getting updates every two days. the last two updates have reset my xbox to factory settings. why? does anyone else have this?

System updating too frequently.

I remember when I first got my console and having to perform a mandatory system update about once a month. However these past few weeks it seems like I have to do a mandatory system update every other DAY.

Anybody else encountering this issue? Why is it happening this frequently? Is it due to being a part of the Xbox Preview Program?

How did you disable the Preview Program? (Now called Xbox Insider Program)

To be sure can you install the Xbox Insider Hub (if you haven't already) and check if the console is indeed unenrolled from the program.

Since it sounds like it is still receiving the updates. See this link it also has the exact steps on how to opt-out:

Do you have automatic updates on? Also when a game forces an update like that it's mandatory and that's totally up to the game devs. It's not Microsoft thats doing it. A good thing to do is check for updates first before playing. I do that every day its
part of my routine

There is an initial update that is mandatory. After that update, you can go offline.

Is that the Console update or game update? If it is the console update it is ok. But is there mandatory update for EVERY game purchased physically?

I am sorry to hear that.

Even if you have done some of the steps below, please do them again, but in this order.

Uninstall the game, clear the local saved data, reset your console, and then reinstall the game.

After uninstalling the game, clear the local saved games.

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage.

On the Manage storage devices screen, select: Clear local saved games. This deletes games saved to your hard drive, but they'll still be saved to the cloud.

Then, reset the console:

Before you continue, make sure you've got the account sign-in information. You'll need it to log back into your console after the reset.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps.

Finally, reinstall the game.

Let me know if it works!

maybe the real question is why did Microsoft make such a large day one update mandatory? don't you think they could have preloaded all this stuff and had a small download to activate it? Or why cant we just use the xbox right out of the box without having
to go through all this crap
