Why does my Xbox freeze in one spot and not let me open the menu if I press the menu button...

I haven't tried my Xbox One with another game just yet, but let's solve this problem one by one! Regarding the issue that when I press MENU button that a HELP screen shows up to the right, I am not able to close that HELP screen despite I press B button
as the screen says! For example, when playing NBA 2k14, when I press that MENU button, the right side of the screen says " We couldn't open Help--Sorry about that. Help may have taken too long to open and stopped responding. Press B to go back, then try to
Help again."

The problem is, even I press the B button, the screen freezes there! This also happen when I am browsing Xbox home page when not playing the game!

Do you know why it is like this??

Which kind of Xbox does this happen on? - I've had this issue, sometimes. Depending on what you're doing on your console. For example, I was playing an online open world game, it takes a lot of resources. For example, when you open the Xbox menu, it takes a couple seconds to open. Just like Fortnite takes 1 or 2 seconds for the menu to open. It's because of Memory usage. It slows down when it's low. For example, I remember as well in Looking for group posts I'd press the Xbox Menu button whilst opening a Group post tab, and the screen, like you'd say darken, and then it would finally open up after, maybe 30 seconds or less. It's a very interesting bug. I'm sure it's network related.

Just to clarify he / she is press the Xbox home button to join or the View and menu button.

If they are pressing the Home button to join then it'll bring you to the xbox one home. Please make sure that they press the View and menu button simultaneously to open the Xbox guide menu / Accept invitations.

Yep, simply play one of the backwards compatible games open the menu by pressing both the menu and start button simultaneously.

It does happen with me aswell from time to time. I just quit my game by pressing on the home button on my controller, selecting Minecraft on the menu that pops up, then use the menu button on controller and select quit of that menu.

Then reload my game.

There was also an update that was released yeaterday.
