    Why does my Xbox controller not work on the cloud gaming on the xbox app on my pc?


    I have recently gotten the game pass and have bought a new Xbox series x wireless controller. The Xbox game pass for my PC works with the controller well with games I have pre-installed, however, when I attempt to play games on the cloud gaming section in the Xbox app the controller does not work. I know it is not an

    the issue with my controller as I can navigate the menu on the top bar with my controller.

    I have also tested this on the browser on my PC and the cloud games work with the wireless controller so I believe there is some issues with the Xbox app.

    Hoping to see some suggestions for a fix.

    Hi Geri,

    Thank you for your response here are the attempts of myself performing your suggestions.

    1. The controller is fully updated through the Xbox Accessories app, I do not know what you mean by repairing the controller to the PC.

    2. The controller works through both wired and wireless and I can navigate through the menu perfectly fine but when I open a game on the Cloud gaming app it does not work, It does work on installed games, however.

    3. I noticed that the controller did not work within the cloud gaming app is the first time trying to open any games within the cloud gaming app. I attempted to play through the browser Xbox website cloud gaming app and this worked perfectly fine.

    4. It has never worked on the Xbox app Cloud gaming but it works perfectly on the browser Xbox cloud gaming website.

    Hopefully, a fix can be found for this.

    Hi Geri,

    I have re-paired the controller and still have the same issues regarding the cloud games,

    I have launched the game and have made sure that the controller works through being able to control the menu perfectly fine but trying to use the controller for the cloud game does not work.

    Please let me know if there are any other suggestions you have.

    I had the same issue. The controller worked for navigating through Xbox app. but when a Xcloud game is launched, the inputs stopped working. I force stopped Xbox app and unpaired controller and removed it from Bluetooth devices. After reconnecting, the controller is working in Xcloud games. Hopefully it will fix your problem too. And it is for sure that this error is of Xbox app.
