    Why does my Xbox Controller not show up in Device Manager?


    I had an Xbox Controller that was working on Tuesday. Yesterday, it stopped working. Yesterday, in Device Manager, it said "Device Descriptor Request Failed", and I followed several guides online to fix the issue. Now, it doesn't get read at all in Device Manager. The only indication on the Controller's part of it being plugged in is the indicator light turning on for a split second, before turning off again. What I DID DO was uninstall a driver, and after that, it started not showing up. So, I think that's the issue. However, I don't know how to resolve this issue, and seemingly no one else has had this issue before. If I can't get this Xbox controller to work,

    I am sorry to hear that.

    Please, on your computer start bar, search for "Services.msc" and open it.

    Scroll down to the bottom of the list and right-click the "Xbox Accessory Management Service"

    Select Properties > On this window, change the initialization/startup type to Automatic.

    Click OK and restart your computer.

    Then, please, check if your controller has a firmware update.

    Open it and connect your controller.

    And did you double check with them if maybe them are the only ones that can process and accept warranty issues?

    Another option can be request a call from Microsoft support and see if they’re able to register it for you.

    Because the only option for us, as users is do it via devices page
