Why does my Xbox account keep getting locked ever 24 hours, how can I resolve this issue?

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with my Xbox account that I hope someone can help me with. My account is being locked approximately once every 24 hours, despite my best efforts to resolve the issue on my own. Initially, I was using a fake name, birthday, and a SimpleLogin email alias, all of which I thought were the reasons for the daily account locking. However, I have since stopped using the fake information and email alias and have attached my real name and birthdate, as well as my state and country to the account. My phone number however, is not attached to the account.

To make matters worse, I have paid real money from my card to purchase goods from the Xbox store, including a month of Game Pass Ultimate and two other games, but the frequent account locking has made me hesitant to keep my Xbox Series S and to spend any more money on the store. Additionally, I used my personal phone number enough times to get an activation code for my account. I have now used the service "hushed" to get additional phone numbers to send codes to, as my personal number always gave the error regarding too many codes being sent to that phone number and to try again in a week.

I am hoping that someone can help me find a solution to this issue as soon as possible. If you have any advice or suggestions, please let me know. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Yea that's what I was thinking. Already have added phone number now and have still had some issues. I plan to give Microsoft a call later today, so will see how that goes...

I am sorry to hear about what happened. Unfortunately, since this an account security issue, we only have here limited support or options regarding it.

The best option we can do is to only follow the prompts or guide it's giving you to unlock or recover your account when you sign in your account to https://account.microsoft.com website. No one can change or alter your account security information except you because only you have access to it and have the ability to verify your account using those information.

If you were able to get into your account, make sure to update your security information via https://account.microsoft.com > Security > Advanced security options.

Thanks for the help, I have followed the suggestions you gave, phone number now attached to my Microsoft account in addition ot everything else.

Unfortunately, that lasted me for 48 hours before I had to unlock my account TWICE within a five minute window. I think I am going to have to ring Microsoft about this issue because their live chat is not particularly useful and although you have been great help, the problem is still not solved. Don't get me wrong though, I really do appreciate your assistance.

I would recommend adding the phone number to your account, you need to have all of your information current and correct

The fact that you used false information may have flagged your account for anomalies

Please try to purchase points in the next 24 hours (please don't keep trying before then as it's quite possible that the console might lock your billing account to prevent fraud). It's possible that the account was flagged for purchases and sometimes waiting
just 24 hours solves the issue on it's own. Let us know if you're still unable to get any sort of points after the 24 hour period has passed
