    Why does my HDMI port keep dying?


    I am on a very frustrating journey with Xbox one X.

    I bought my initial console 5 years ago and after our first house move my HDMI port stopped being responsive.

    Since it was under warranty Microsoft replaced it.

    1 week after getting my new console it happened again. Another console replacement/warranty claim.

    About 6 months later same fault again and yet another replacement.

    And finally it happened to me again yesterday when I reconnected it to a different TV. This time I'm out of warranty and can't get it replaced.

    I turn on the console and get a blank screen/no signal. Xbox doesn't beep when it turns on either. I use high quality HDMI cables.

    Is anyone aware of this issue and how common it is ? Is there anything that I could do to fix it or should I just buy a play station?

    I see. That's interesting. Does it act as a pass through? There would have to be another HDMI port for another cable to connect to my monitor yes? Cable -> extractor -> monitor, right? Keep in mind I only have one HDMI port on my monitor.

    hello Fernando.

    I can connect with HDMI to a TV, My monitor does not have a HDMI port, that's why I used an adapter.

    Edit: Just tried to connect with my laptop. it works perfectly.

    Why does everyone assume that Xbox is always connected to the TV or something with HDMI ? This "Appleifying" of the Industry is so annoying. Why can't the Industry provide the ports and get the hell out of my life ?
