Why does my display only fit correctly in dvi mode?

With optimal tv settings, the display for my Xbox one does not fit correctly in HDMI or recommend mode. It almost fits but a small (but crucial) portion is outside the border and not visible. If I override the display settings and change it to dvi it fits perfectly but then I lose audio since I have no optical audio cable.

Hi Cassidy!

It seems to be a compatibility issue with your TV from your console.

Is this your first time setting up your console with that particular TV?

Check your TV settings and look for the aspect ratio settings. Be sure to change or set it to "Just Scan" or automatic.

HDCP works over both HDMI and DVI. Unless the cable is bad or the monitor does not support HDCP, that's not the problem. You may want to try a display reset to force the console into 480p mode, then go from there.

The Display settings even show 1920x1080 and DVI on the 360.

Should.be noted that your may wsnt to check your display manual

Not all monitors supoort 4k sometimes its 1440p which is computer 4k or it only does 4k on dvi

Found after the June 2012 update that I'd display discovery mode was on and I had the Xbox uh he'd directly into my tv it came up with display mode not supported and you just get a blank screen. When plugged through my blu ray player hdmi it displays on
the screen. Found that display discovery think output is dvi I stad of hdmi. Disabled display discovery and it not selects HDMI though secure hdcp connection isn't working anymore
