Why does my controller have to turn off why I want to play on keyboard and mouse

I'm much happier with a controller, others are much more comfortable with a keyboard and mouse. If people are playing with what they prefer then I see no reason why it's unfair, if I was given a keyboard and mouse I'd barely make it across a map.

That said, if MS wanted keyboard and mouse to be compatible, they would have been. It is essentially modding to a small extent and in my eyes those gamers should have just bought a PC.

Summoned33 You do realise that no everybody actually like playing with a keyboard and mouse right? I mean have you tried using a keyboard and mouse whilst sat on a sofa, let me tell you it isn't easy.

Nothing in this world is pure black and white (heck black and white doesn't even exist in nature) why try and make everyone use the same type of controls? why not let those that want to use keyboard and mice use them, and those that want controllers use
them?

i don't know why having others thins like a keyboard and mouse is cheating if you can used is OK, if you have the elite controller and customized for you're play better is cheating NO. having a keyboard and mouse is another tool

Are you using the keyboard to turn on the console, or a regular controller?

My suggestion is to try using a regular Xbox One Controller (any should do, standard, Elite Series 1 or 2) to turn on the console, launch the game, then turn off the controller, and connect the keyboard and mouse after the controller has been turned off,
you should then be prompted to select an account to use the keyboard and mouse with for the game.
