    Why does my controller do this?


    My Xbox controller moves the opposite directions and it moves by it self to the right of my screen and it’s unusable. This started just last night when I was playing Fortnite and it just started going places. I didn’t drop it or anything I was just in the lobby when it started. Please someone reach out to me.

    Hello Jason, by your description it looks like you are trying to connect your control to a PC, make sure you checked if you have the latest version of Windows installed, at 22H2.

    See which version of Windows 10 you have

    Updates are often seen as optional.

    Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.

    After the updates are made, download the Xbox Accessories App and try to sync the controller first via the USB cable.

    That's totally fine and thank you for checking but in this case, we may need to get the console replaced/repaired. You can request a replacement for your controller by signing in to this link and submitting the controller's serial number:

    After you have successfully completed the replacement order the shipping label will be sent to you within 24-48 hours.
