    Why does my controller blink twice and then shut off?


    For the past several hours, my controller has been flashing twice, and then powering itself off—only to do it again a few seconds later.

    This problem started earlier when the batteries in my controller died; I plugged them in, waited a few hours until the charger said they were finished, put them back in, and then the flashing started.

    I’ve watched what feels like a dozen videos claiming to fix the issue: I’ve unplugged the Xbox and left it for several minutes before turning it back on, I’ve tried using a different controller, and I’ve tried switching which outlet my Xbox was plugged into; nothing seems to work.

    Any help fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Hello! Mine just did the same thing yesterday! Were you able to figure out a solution? I tried pairing but it blinks twice and shuts off. Other controllers work fine.

    Series X controller blinks twice and shuts off

    Hi,

    So i actually cant update or see if my controller needs an update because its not showing up on the microsoft accessories app on my laptop and i tried to connect it to my old xbox one however its having the same issue of turning off

    Is there any other way i could update it without the xbox accessories app?

    No its not fast. It blinks slow like it usually does before it powers off but instead of blinking once or twice like normal it just keeps going.

    I should add too that the controller light stays on and connected too. It wont turn off either. I’ve tried the go-to hard reset as well and it didn’t fix the issue.

    I tried this and this did not work either, but the controller home button blinked twice before turning off again.
