    Why does my console keep turning off?


    Any one have any idea how to fix my console from turning off after a short period of time during a game? It doesn’t happen on all games (digital and physical) but I could leave it on dash or an app for hours then start up a game and it’ll turn off shortly after or just turn on and go straight into a game only for it to turn off immediately . I’ve reset the console multiple times, erased all data off it, changed power cables, batteries in controllers (apparently that was a cause) and everything else. I really don’t want to pay £300 on a console not even 18 months old from new to be repaired. Please help, many thanks!!

    Hello Adam, have you tested your console on other electrical outlets, if so and it still acts the same you can try an offline reset but it is not guaranteed to work.

    I don't know how old your console is and what model it is, but if it's the old generation, Microsoft no longer has a paid repair service for them, it only exists for Series S/X.

    Yep. No affect.
    The xbox one has updates sometimes when the console is off. Does the drive keep spinning for more than 10 minutes after you turn off the console?

    Also, does the drive park when the console turns off? And it keeps spinning?

    Energy mode does turn off the console completly.

    I wouldn't have a clue why unplugging it, after your turned it off, would harm the console...
