Why does Minecraft (PE Edition) Not allow me to use Classic skins?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues changing the skin of your character in Minecraft. If Minecraft doesn't recognize your skin, then go to the main Minecraft Settings page, find the General tab, and make sure "Only Allow Trusted Skins" is toggled off.

Here is how to equip new items to your character in the dressing room.

Note: The Dressing Room is exclusive to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

How to use the Dressing Room in Minecraft

Character creator items

If you are looking to add character creator items to your Minecraft character, follow these steps:

Start Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. 

Select Dressing Room. 

Select the character slot you want to edit or a new one. 

Select Edit Character. 

Open the Body or Style tab. 

Find the item in the proper section. 

Click Equip.

How to equip classic skins in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

If you instead want to use a classic skin from something you purchased in the Marketplace, do the following:

Start Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Select Dressing Room.

Select the character slot you want to change the skin of or a new one.

Select Edit Character.

Select Classic Skins on the left bar.

Browse through and select the skin you want to use.

Click Equip.

Note: Classic skins cannot be customized with character creator items.

If you're still experiencing issues, go into the game settings, log out of your Minecraft account, and then log back in to resync your account.

We understand that you wanted to download Minecraft skin from PE using android phone.

Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Open the Google Play Store It's the app that has an icon that resembles a colorful triangle.
   
2. Type Skins for Minecraft PE in the search bar. The search bar is at the top of the Google Play Store, or in the center of the search page on the App Store. This displays a list of apps in the search results.
   
3. Tap Skins for Minecraft PE. It's in the list of search results.
   
4. Tap Install next to Skins for Minecraft PE. It has a blue icon with three Minecraft characters.
   
5. Open Skins for Minecraft PE. Tap the icon on your home screen or apps menu to open Skins for Minecraft. You can also tap Open next to the app in the Google Play Store or App Store.
   
6. Tap < or > to browse skins. There are several pages of skins for you to choose from. Tap < or > to changes pages.
   
7. Tap a skin. When you see a skin you like, tap on it to display the skin.
   
8. Tap Save. It's the button that has an icon that resembles a disk. It's at the bottom of the screen.
   
9. Tap Save. It's the button that has an icon that resembles a disk. It's at the bottom of the screen.
   
10. Tap Gallery. This exports the skin to your Gallery as a flat image.

13. If you're not signed in to your Minecraft account, tap Sign In on the left and sign in with the email address and password associated with your Microsoft or Xbox account.
    
14. Tap < or > to select a character. You can have a few different characters to select from. Tap the arrow icons next to your Minecraft character to select a character.
    
15. Tap Edit Character. It's the button on the left below your character. This opens the character editor screen.
    
16. Tap the icon that has multiple Minecraft characters. It's the second tab at the top of the menu on the left. This displays options for changing your skin.
    
17. Tap Owned. This displays skins that you own. They are listed by package and category.
    
18. Tap Import. It's the first option at the top of the Minecraft Skins menu on the left. This allows you to import a Minecraft Skin.
    
19. Tap Choose New Skin. It's the option at the bottom of the screen.
    
20. Tap the image of your skin. It will be an image that resembles the skin you selected but with all the pieces layed out flat instead of in 3D cube shapes.
    
21. Tap the option that looks best. Minecraft displays two options for how the skin should be worn. Tap the option that looks best. This selects your skin. You can now wear the skin in the game.

To set your expectations properly, the McDonald's Minecraft skin cannot be used in the Java Edition of the game because the McDonald's skin promotion is exclusively for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft.

You will need to use the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition to access and equip the McDonald's skin.
