To make a long story short, I was trying to log into my Microsoft account a month or so back and it kept telling me that the account didn't exist, so I assumed it got hacked. After talking to Microsoft support about it, they emailed me back saying that they can confirm that the account was hacked and that they would try their best to get it back. I waited a bit before recontacting their support team, which after another week I got told that they couldn't get the account anymore so they had to shut it down, however one of the support service people told me that there was a chance to save my xbox account, but not my actual Microsoft account (the files and such), which was fine, so I recontacted their support team and it has been well over a week since I have asked them about this and have gotten no response.

First, I didn't know that it was Microsoft's job to police the internet and secondly after reading the rest of your rant I think my IQ dropped a few points.

How come is it not possible to get it back?

Microsoft have data bases where they store account information.

I got proof that I used the account, I even have the credit card that I used to purchase games on the account.

Why isn't Microsoft taking responsibility for their lack of security?

Yes thats whay your automated message says on your so called "online support". In reality in my research there are countless incidents where a person has their account hacked and Microsoft does absolutely nothing about it. Why does such an enormous company not want to help their customers how their customers want to be helped? Get rid of the automated **** and go back to real people. I had this happen when I had an xbox 360 many years ago. I called the support number and in about an hour they got my account back. Your steps are trash and once I find out that the automated **** wont give me my account back I'll never buy this microsoft trash again.
