    Why does it say I need to pay for Gold on XBox One for Minecraft?


    I bought Minecraft. Now it says I need to subscribe to Gold. Can't I play for free? Why do I need to subscribe?

    I don't see how it's a perk for Gold users. It would be a perk if it were included in the cost of a Gold sub. On PS3, there's no charge and PSN is free. If PSN is free and you don't need PSN+ to access Netflix, why doesn't Microsoft allow us access to it
    without a Gold subscription? If I pay for Netflix and I paid for the Xbox, why do I need to pay to use things that I pay for on things I paid for?

    The question is why would you get an X360 just to use Netflix etc. Xbox Live is a premium private service. You got a PC use that.

    As gamepass does not carry gold only ultimate or gold does

    Fortnite is f2p that's why they can

    Either profile can play while kn the home console

    Minecraft isnt

    Therefore requires gold

    Thanks. However the visitors are kids (for the moment 8 year olds), so this would need to be an age restricted account.

    Would I need to create this as a family account, and then pay for it as I needed to do for my child's account?

    Also, I would like to understand why all other games are accepting the Xbox One X functinality of temporary visitor accounts, but Minecraft does not. Is there a bug in Minecraft Xbox One disc version?

    why should we pay xbox live gold extra if games like sea of thieves are based on online multiplayer (don't buy Xbox live gold)

    how can I play sea thieves that I bought with my own money and when I launch it, It says to buy Xbox Live Gold but how are the people able to play it and pay their own money just to pay more and not everyone can afford to pay every month and year and it's wong to pay extra when the whole online that's why Xbox live gold is scummy no one needs to pay extra money on an online base multplay game but how do I know if say this because it must be well paying job Microsoft is.

    neither does xbox, they used to be gold required now only gold is needed for online play. and why would you pay 10 a month when 60 a year is a FAR better deal?

    Why is everyone else saying it doesnt have to periodically check but you are saying it does? ...
    This is only true for Xbox One games you get via Games with Gold and games you "rented" via the Xbox Game Pass.

    These games need to check if you are still a paying Gold member or have an active Game Pass Subscription.

    All other games that you actually purchased either digitally or physically with a disc don't require regular online check ins.
