    Why do we need credit card info for a free 360 game? infact, why do we need a credit card at all, i buy xbox money cards and i would purchase more back compatible games if i didnt need a credit card

    You're still technically making a purchase even though it's free. So you need a payment method on file in order to do so. The One/xbox.com are not set up to see your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content so you need a credit
    card/paypal on file.

    You're still technically making a purchase even though it's free. So you need a payment method on file in order to do so. The One/xbox.com are not set up to see your Microsoft account balance as a valid payment option for 360 content so you need a credit
    card/paypal on file.
