Why do xbox elite controllers have play in the sticks

Hi I have a xbox elite series 2 and it's the second one I've bought due to other reasons but ive noticed both of them have a little bit of play in the stick that does nothing to game with the input i do especially in fps games like apex legends etc. I know it's not a wear/use issue because a youtuber that I follow has switched from a ps4 controller to a brand new elite series 2 for fun and he mentioned straight away about the stick play compared to the ps4 controller so I looked at my own 2 and it was true, I'm just frustrated that when I try to fine tune my aim at a distance my aim control is never going to be perfect and for such an expensive controller $250aud I'd assume its a major flaw that shouldn't exist

That is a shame to hear and there are regularly issues being reported here in the forums with the Elite controllers. Personally, this is why I have stayed away from the Elite series and stick to the regular controllers. I do hope you can get this issue
resolved and hopefully not have to spend a lot of out of pocket money for it. Best of luck!

That is strange. I've only ever had stick drift on my old 360 controllers. I don't know if the standard Xbox one controllers have it, but the Xbox Elite controller sticks can be adjusted to have dead zones to avoid drift. Check in the Xbox Accessories
app if you can adjust it for normal controllers.

Have my elite controller set up and still drifts. Can't do standard controller. Did notice they drift worse on any COD.

I've had probably 10+controllers. It does happen, but usually after alot of use. Are they normal or elites? I mean, it could be terrrrrible luck, but it seems really unlikely. But my suggestion either way would be to spring for the elite. If its
something to do with how your playing, you can customize the sticks to compensate or try the different stick sizes to possibly get a better feel. Plus its a whole new ballgame with the elite, so either try for lucky #5 or just get the one that will work for

why should i spring for an elite though? 4 brand new controllers all have an issue. its nothing to do with how im playing at all. how could it be?
