why do they have the map pack only under onslaught?

So you can only play the new maps and not the old ones at the same time? You also cant choose your own game mode? it has to be random?? I hope this is just temporary to show off the maps.. Because this is the dumbest thing i ever heard.

Gears 3 10 MP Maps

I have a question: why do they make you get the dlc map packs in order to play the social aspect of Gears 2 online? Tried to play with someone tonight in social horde but it said I don't have the map packs, which I don't. Why is this a requirement for social?
I refuse to buy the map pack for Gears 2 since 3 is right around the corner.

 

Map Pack Question?

If you bought the season pass then to download the crimson map pack you have to go into the game's main menu under marketplace content, highlight the map pack, and download for 0MS points. After the download is complete you should be able to access and
play the 3 new maps under the Crimson DLC gametype. DO NOT download the map packs in the dashboard marketplace as you will be charged 800MS points.

Umm... Devs have done this with just about every FPS. Anytime there's a new DLC it has it's own playlist for a short time so you can play specifically those maps and learn them before they go into full rotation. Complaint denied

 

Yep, only valid point to that would be OPs2 n the NukeTown 24/7 map they gave as a bonus, then gave away free to everyone, and then took it back for special occasions only.

Anyone who has ever played any of the previous Call of Duty games would know that new map packs get a playlist of their own until the get integrated into the regular rotation. Also I don't see why it bothers you so much, can't play
with a silver account online....

 

Maybe I am not understanding this clearly. The map pack does have its own playlist, but it also is integrated into the regular game modes. I played several last night.

 

They isolate the dlc from reg rotation until a substantial number of players have buy it. Otherwise, you're in a lobby and a) waiting forever until you're matched with at least 8 other ppl who ALL have the dlc, or b) you have it, yet are always in a lobby
where not everyone had it, so you end up not seeing the new maps anyhow. So this is why they just said fudge it, lets just make a dlc playlist where ppl can play the maps all day long, albeit in mosh pit, at least until more ppl buy the dlc.

You're lucky then, I haven't seen them at all in the regular rotation.

 

Barring any regional differences which we are unaware of, anyone telling you the dlc is in reg rotation needs to post a screenshot or it didn't happen, as far as I'm concerned.

 

makes sense i suppose but that doesnt make it any less of a cop out that i cant play with the maps on team deathmatch.

 

I still havent played any of the new DLC maps, but I havent bought the DLC either. First time ever I have not bought a CoD DLC.

 

I haven't played a dlc map yet in regular rotation. I already forgot about the dlc.
