Why do my games freeze then quit the game without any damage to disc

The disk is only used for authentication and installation, it is not used during gameplay on anything Xbox one and above

The reason it seems to be working when playing from the disc is that your xbox hasn't had any reason to access the data in the damaged part of the disc yet. When it does need to you will get a disc unreadable error or the game will freeze.

When installing it needs to access the whole disc which is why it always fails.

And to answer your question it will say disc unreadable at some point when the game needs to access the damaged part of the disc.

As you've already tried one of those disc repair services then your best option is to get a new disc.

You will definately hear the fan starting up. I can always hear mine. As fas as the game goes, it sounds like it could be a disc problem. The disc could be damaged without it even being visible. Sometimes, the game manufacturers use a low quality disc that
is easily damage by heat, and you will not see any damage, but the disc will not play.

Kindly check if the disc has any scratches or damages which may cause issues on why the console isn't detecting your license for the game even though it's already installed.

Also, if there are no scratches or damages. Uninstall the game then reinstall it via the disc itself by inserting the disc.

Currently playing the game "gun", the disc is damaged and will not play.

I installed the disc, and am now playing it without issue.

Installing the game "bypassed" my problem.
